Celebrate Arbor Day Today

Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. Founded by J. Sterling Morton in 1872, it’s celebrated on the last Friday in April.  Check out the Arbor Day web site for more details – http://www.arborday.org/arborday/.

Today at 3:30 pm the Helena Garden Club will be celebrating the life of our dear friend Ruth Eby and her dedicated husband Charles as we dedicate a Colorado Blue Spruce tree in their memory.   The ceremony will be held in Hill Park across from the Helena Civic Center.  The tree is northwest of the fountain.  Afterwards we will head over to a local coffee shop.

If you cannot join us today, take the time to do something on your own to celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree or donating funds to a local organization to plant a tree in a public location.
