Today’s Trip is still on also info on Volunteer for Veggies

With all this rain some of you are likely asking if we are still going on the field trip today.  Of course, a little rain won’t stop us gardeners.  Actually we may get a slight break in the weather during the trip – http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/59635#, but it is always good to be prepared so bring your rain gear and a pair of shoes that can get muddy.  If you are interested in purchasing some ornamental grasses bring a little spending money.  The pink flamingo has a charming pink school bus that we can eat in for lunch.  The menu includes burgers, chicken, fish and wraps.

On another note, there is a Volunteer for Veggies work day on Monday, June 21st if you are interest you can show up at the Food Share Community Garden (1616 Lewis St.) at 5:30 PM.   Take your tools for tasks such as weeding and turning compost.  In return, when the garden starts producing, get some vegetables in exchange for all your work!   If you have questions, please call WEEL and the Growing Community Project at 495-0497.
