January Meeting this Saturday January 8th at 10:30 am

Happy New Year everyone.  Our next club meeting is this Saturday, January 8th at 10:30 am.  We will be in the large conference room at the Lewis and Clark County Library.  The topic this month will be Gardening in all Types of Weather.  Seems appropriate for January, eh?

We are taking up some collections for local organizations.  If you have been collecting outdoor Christmas decorations or lights, bring them to the meeting for the donation to Tizer Gardens for next year’s Christmas display.  As a club we are encouraging the use of LED lights especially because they consume less energy, burn brighter and stay cool to the touch.  Check out any last-minute clearance sales if you are interested in donating lights.

We are also collecting flower vases and containers for the Farm in the Dell.  The Farm in the Dell can use all sorts of vases which are used for special occasion floral displays as well as weekly deliveries.  So bring all those extra vases you will never use that are just lying around the house and we will donate them to Farm in the Dell who will put them to good use.

We will also have plenty of business to discuss with the upcoming 60th anniversary celebration, Blue Star Memorial project and by-law revisions.  Please take a moment to review the updated by-laws (Helena Garden Club Draft ByLaws 2011 ) and provide your comments or approval at the meeting.

All visitors are welcome to attend and check out the club.  We hope you will find us to be a friendly bunch of enthusiastic gardeners.
