Today is May Day

Today is a day where people traditionally leave flower baskets on people’s doors to celebrate May Day.  May 1st  marks the coming of Spring and signals a time of rebirth and new beginnings.  Flowers shared in the Victorian era had special meaning.  Today we honored our long time members Irma and Marilyn who have been in the club for over 30 years with May Day baskets.  Thank you both for your years of service in the Helena Garden Club.  The Stock represented our wish for a happy life, Alyssum communicated that these wonderful members worth extends beyond beauty.  Asters represented the patience they had while teaching us younger members the lessons of gardening.  Violets represent their faithfulness to the club and our affection for them over the years.
