Upcoming activities for the 6th Ward Garden Park Edible Forest Project

Help heal our ancient Mother Earth — Helena, Montana, National Public Lands Day, 9/26, 9 – 2 pm, 6th Ward Garden Park, 1325 Bozeman Avenue, Helena, MT. Help lay a living forest floor on the mid-bioswale. Good fun, exercise, and picnic after.  Connect to the Facebook event at “Celebrate Our Ancient Mother“.

Everyone is also invited to attend any of the following Forest Garden Design Intensive Public Sessions below and spread the word to others on Facebook.  There is a suggested donation of $5 for each session.
FGDI Public Session #1
Sunday, October 4th from 7:30 to 9 pm – a close look at some of the forest garden projects that instructors and course participants have been a part of designing, implementing, and maintaining. Hear inspiration and lessons learned for your own forest garden project!
Introduction to Forest Garden Case Studies (with people who have worked on the gardens)
FGDI Public Session #2
Monday, October 5th at 9 am to 10:30 am.  Hear Dave Jacke’s introduction to the vision, theory, and practices that form the foundation of wholesome, dynamic and resilient edible ecosystems.
FGDI Public Session #3
Saturday, October 10 from 2 pm to 5 pm.
See ecological design processes applied to a range of food-producing ecologies and scales on sites in Helena.
